Hackers Stole Credit Info From 143 Million People
Protect Your Identity

It was announced this week that hackers breached a major credit reporting agency and have possibly accessed information from 143 million people.
If you are wondering how to protect yourself, here are a few tips.
1. Subscribe to a credit monitoring agency and sign up for alerts. This will tell you when new credit, or changes to your accounts, have been made.
2. Change passwords and pins regularly.
3. Lock your credit so no new accounts can be opened. Here is more information on how to do this from the Federal Trade Commission.
Some credit monitoring agencies allow a shortcut to locking your credit as an added service to make this easier on you.
Here's to hoping none of you are affected by this hack!
